“Music is the simplest gift of all.”
- Simple Gifts by Elder Joseph Brackett
People say memory fades as time goes by. I may not recall what I learned in class, yet being brought up high on Kowloon’s verdant slope, the school has given me one of the most precious gifts that last for a lifetime, that is the identity as Good Hope School Choir member.
It is where we first developed sisterhood with fellow members, understood how music heals one’s heart, learned the importance of teamwork, tasted success as well as failure, all in all, a glimpse of real life. These life lessons moulded us into who we become today.
Leaving our Alma Mater does not mean we have to put an end to these fulfilling experiences and joyful moments. No matter how long we have left our school, how far apart our generations may be, music is like an anchor, bringing us together as part of Good Hope School Choir.
2020 is a very special year for Good Hope Singers. We have reached the ten-year milestone under the guidance and support of our Alma mater and friends of Good Hope. On behalf of the executive committee, I would like to express a heartfelt appreciation to all of your support throughout the years. We will try our very best to inherit the tradition of the organisation, make good use of our gifts to spread love to those in need, and hopefully, create more enjoyable music moments to the family of Good Hope Choir.
If you are already a member and would love to take a further step in passing on the spirit, please consider becoming an Executive Committee or Sub-committee member! The current members in their position are happy to tell you more.
